The new UDO Audio Ribbon Controller isn’t just a perfect companion for the Super 6 — with the RBN-1C Eurorack receiver, it can be fully integrated into a modular system. In this setup, it offers duophonic capabilities, a looping function, and additional performance options such as Hold On/Off and Absolute or Relative pitch tracking.
- Relative mode: The CV value starts at zero from wherever your finger lands.
- Absolute mode: The leftmost marking equals zero volts, acting as a fixed pitch reference.
In this video, we use the Ribbon Controller for pitch control in Absolute mode. Using the onboard potentiometer, we vary the pitch range from 0.5 to 3 octaves. One patch demonstrates both CV outputs in action — the left hand controlling pitch, the right hand morphing the wavetable.
The playing experience feels immediate and expressive, like directly touching your modular system. The gate output has no latency, making it a joy to perform with.
The looping function is straightforward and inspiring: press once to record a motion, press again to play it back. In Hold On mode, playback starts automatically. This opens up creative possibilities for evolving modulations, rhythmic sequences, and layered textures.
